Visit this food court for great food and support the disabled and the disadvantaged!

There's this nice food court hidden in the Serangoon Central (Block 267, Serangoon Avenue 3, #02-02, Singapore 550267) that serves good food and is a place where the disabled and the disadvantaged learn to run a hawker stall. It's called dignity kitchen.

I visit the place frequently for their noodles. Although it a hwker training center, the food is comparable to those served in other foodcourts. Some even better than Kopitiam, Koufu and Food Republic. And I'm glad that my money goes to support the disabled and the disadvantaged instead of going to the pocket of money sucking food court chains.

Here's some info about the place, as written on it's facebook page

"An initiative conceptualised in 2006 and incorporated 4 years after, Dignity Kitchen is Singapore’s first social enterprise food court working with the disadvantaged and disabled offering quality food and service to the public.

Our primary focus involving education and outreach forms the mission : To build and return dignity to the disadvantaged and disabled through vocation with passion.

Dignity Kitchen’s educating efforts include using a functional food court as a training platform and a combination of innovative teaching methods to develop our students’ skill set. The interactive experience created by the dynamic environment between the public and our students, allows for the enhancement of educational values."
