Raising petrol duty is a good move?

Read this on a forum...

"when petrol was cheap, it encouraged people to drive their car more, contributing to pollution and road congestion.

the petrol duty hike will tone down pollution and ease the congestion of crowded Singapore.

petrol duty hike is needed, because coe alone is not enough to tackle the congestion, as we can see singaporeans continuing to bid up the coe to buy cars. coe all snapped up.

a rebate is given to ease the petrol duty hike, and erp is also in place to help more people to own cars, so what else do car owners in singapore want?

car owners in Singapore are a lucky lot so stop complaining about the petrol duty hike."

Agree?
